On the border of the promised land

On the border of the promised land

Greetings, friend!

As I said yesterday, the Israelites weren't ready to enter the promised land yet, even if they were only a few days away from the Jordan River...

They moved to the Paran Desert between the mountain of God and the Jordan River crossing. Here the Creator sent twelve leaders to explore the promised land. They even brought a massive branch of grapes from the promised land. Despite this, ten of them said that the land is good, BUT that there are Anakites, descendants of the Nephilim, living there and they would not be able to defeat them. Only Caleb, a descendant of Judah, and Joshua, a descendant from Ephraim, stood up and said that, with the Creator on our side, we can do it. These ten's report spread like wildfire and the Israelites became rebellious again. They refused to listen to Moses, Aaron, Joshua and Caleb.

The Creator appeared to them and said, "How long will you people treat me with contempt? How long will you refuse to believe in me, despite all the miraculous signs I showed you? I will strike all the rebels with a plague and the others I will make into a great and strong nation." Moses plead with Him and asked Him to forgive the rebels. So the Creator changed the punishment for the rebellion by telling them that they would wander for 40 years - one year for every day they explored the promised land - in the desert without entering the promised land until all the rebels has died one by one and only those who wanted to be obedient and the children younger than twenty years old were left. Only the ten who brought the rebellion on died of the plaque.

The Israelites repented from following the rebel leaders, but they went against the Creator's instruction and tried to enter the promised land, but were defeated by the residents.

And so they wandered in the desert and the older generation, those who rebelled earlier, kept on doing what was not right until the last rebel died in the desert 40 years later.

Joshua became Moses assistant and trainee leader to succeed him after his death. Shortly before his death, the Creator told Moses to go to Mount Nebo to be taken to the other promised land, Paradise. He blessed the tribes and went up the mountain after that to view the promised land before his death. Joshua took over from him after he left.

Only Joshua, Caleb and the children of the rebels younger than twenty years were now left. And they were ready to enter the promised land...

TODAY'S QUESTIONS:
Are you rebellious? Do you listen when you get instructions or not?

Forgiveness and a new life is waiting for you!

You would know what to do... GO AND DO IT NOW!
