Mother: special respect for a very special person

Mother: special respect for a very special person

Greetings, friend!

Today we want to talk about mothers.

Exodus 20 verse 12: "Honor your father and your MOTHER, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you."

Famous quote from the special Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him): "Paradise lies at the feet of the MOTHER."

My question? How do you treat  your mother?

Here is an adapted quote about life with a mother:

When you came into the world, she held you in her arms. You thanked her by wailing like a banshee.

When you were 1 year old, she fed you and bathed you. You thanked her by crying all night long.

When you were 2 years old, she taught you to walk. You thanked her by running away when she called.

When you were 3 years old, she made all your meals with love. You thanked her by tossing your plate on the floor.

When you were 4 years old, she gave you some crayons. You thanked her by coloring the dining room table or the wall in the corridor.

When you were 5 years old, she dressed you for the holidays. You thanked her by plopping into the nearest pile of mud.

When you were 6 years old, she walked you to school. You thanked her by screaming at the top of your voice, "I'M NOT GOING!" and creating a big scene.

When you were 7 years old, she bought you a baseball to play with. You thanked her by throwing it through the neighbor's house window.

When you were 8 years old, she handed you an ice cream. You thanked her by throwing it on the ground because you wanted another flavor.

When you were 9 years old, she paid for music lessons. You thanked her by not attending classes.

When you were 10 years old, she drove you everywhere you wanted to go. You thanked her by jumping out of the car, slamming the door and not turning around to give her a thank you kiss.

When you were 11 years old, she took you and your friends to movies. You thanked her by asking to sit elsewhere.

When you were 12 years old, she warned you about watching certain TV shows. You thanked her by waiting until she is out of the house and watching them anyways.

When you were 13 years old, she suggested a haircut that suits you better. You thanked her by telling her that she has no taste.

When you were 14 years old, she paid for a month at summer camp. You thanked her by forgetting to write a single SMS or WhatsApp.

When you were 15 years old, she came home from work hoping you will hug her. You thanked her by keeping your bedroom door locked.

When you were 16 years old, she taught you how to drive a car. You thanked her by using her car whenever you can.

When you were 17 years old, she was expecting a very important call. You thanked her by being on the phone for hours.

When you were 18 years old, she cried at your high school graduation. You thanked her by staying out and partying with your friends until dawn.

When you were 19 years old, she paid for your college tuition, drove you to campus and even carrying your bags. You thanked her by saying goodbye outside the boarding house so she would not embarrass your friends.

When you were 20 years old, she asked whether you are dating anyone. You thanked her by answering, "It's none of your business."

When you were 21 years old, she suggested certain careers for your future. You thanked her by answering, "I don't want to be like you."

When you were 22 years old, she hugged you at your college graduation. You thanked her by asking if she can by for your gap year in Europe.

When you were 23 years old, she gave you some almost new furniture for your first apartment. You thanked her her by selling it and telling your friends you don't like the color scheme.

When you were 24 years old, she met your fiancée and asked about your plans for the future. You thanked her by glaring and growling, "MOTHER, PLEASE!"

When you were 25 years old, she helped you pay for your wedding. She cried and told you how deeply she loves you. You thanked her by moving halfway across the country.

When you were 30 years old, she called with some advice for your sick baby. You thanked her by telling her, "Things are not the same as 30 years ago."

When you were 40 years old, she called to remind you of a relative's birthday. You thanked her by saying, "Sorry, but I am really busy now."

When you were 50 years old, she suddenly fell and needed you to take care of her. You thanked her by booking her into a care facility and not even visiting one day a month.

And then, one day, she died in her sleep. And everything you never did for her came crashing down like thunder.

Let us take a moment and think about your Mother. What she has done for you, how you thanked her (or not), how you could have thanked her.

Now go to her, give her a hug and say thank you for everything. And do that regularly from now on.

"I have issues with my mother." You don't have to be rude to show her respect and still tell her your opinion is different, just respectfully firm.

"My mother is of a different faith." Again, you can respectfully agree to disagree. In this case you need to respect her even more while firmly and respectfully telling her that you are not interested in her religious views because yours are different. You can still show her your love and respect.

"My mother is no more." Well, ask the Creator to convey the message for you. Cherish your good memories and leave your regrets with the Creator. If you can correct issues now, do it. Certain religions have ways to show respect for her after her death. Do those.

TODAY'S QUESTIONS:
Are you respecting your mother whether she is alive or no longer with you?

Are you doing what the Creator wants you to do? Or are you deviating from His orders, even if it just slightly?

Forgiveness and a new life is waiting for you! The Muslims says that one day the sun will come up in the West and that after that there would be no more redemption even if we repent and change a million times! It is better to be ready and prepared NOW!
You would know what to do... GO AND DO IT NOW!

Are you ready for what is about to come? PREPARE YOURSELF. Even our warnings can disappear anytime!
