Moses and Pharaoh Part 1
Greetings, friend!
Now Jacob and his whole family died in Egypt, but his grandchildren and their children grew so numerous that the Egyptians felt threatened.
When you feeling threatened you start doing things that you would not normally do. And starting to do more and more of the wrong things in order to protect you and your family. You also starting to relying more on yourself and your deeds to protect and less and less on the Real Protector - the Creator Himself.
Firstly, idolatry, haughtiness and jealousy. The new Pharaoh, probably the grandson of the one that appointed Joseph as prime minister, believed he was the son of the Creator (most of the Pharaohs believed one of their parents are not human, but from a different world and therefore superior to mankind...) and the people must worship him instead of the Creator.
Secondly, oppression. He oppressed the Israelites and made them hard labor slaves. Slaves who work for NOTHING and, if it wasn't for the Creator providing them with food (from the cattle and sheep that Jacob and his family brought to Egypt and other sources), clothing and other provisions, they probably would have died out very quickly.
Thirdly, murder. He instructed the midwives to reduce the Israelitic population by killing their sons at birth and letting only the girls live. His main intend was to let these girls marry Egyptian boys as there are no Israelite boys available and obliterate them that way.
His haughtiness just made him hate the Israelites more as the Creator let them become more and more, stronger and stronger.
But the Creator had plans with one family from the family of Levi. Amran was the son of Kohath, one of Levi's sons.
Amran had a pregnant wife, Jochebed, and a young boy called Aaron and a daughter called Miriam. She gave birth to another boy. She saw that he was a fine child and hide him until she could not anymore.
God gave her an idea to make a basket and line it with pitch to make it watertight. She put the little baby in it and put it into the Nile while little Miriam was watching from a safe distance.
Pharaoh's daughter found the baby and claimed him for herself. Little Miriam arranged that her mother became the baby's nursing mother for the princess. The princess called him Moses which is Egyptian for "I drew him out of the water". And now Moses became part of the royal Egyptian household.
What Pharaoh and the princess did not know is what would happen in a few years' time, when Moses became a man, through the Hand of the Creator... More about that next time!
TODAY'S QUESTIONS:
Are you haughty? Or jealous? Are you planning devious plans to protect yourself and your family? Would you stop at nothing protecting them? Not even lies and murder?
Then it is time to realize that you are not GOD. You are just part of the creation and the Creator alone is the Sustainer and Protector of everything in the universe.
Forgiveness and a new life is waiting for you!
You would know what to do... GO AND DO IT NOW!

Messengers of the Creator
