Solomon, prophet and third king of Israel (1)

Greetings, friend!

Solomon's throne was established by his wisdom and his prophetic anointment, even while his father was still alive.

One night, shortly after his coronation, Solomon had a dream vision where the Creator asked him what he would like to have. Solomon asked for wisdom as he realized that the task of kingship is going to drain his decision ability. The Creator granted him his request, but added to it wealth, honor and a conditional long life. When he woke he went and offered at the tabernacle to express his thanks.

His wisdom was tested quickly in a case between two mothers, one whose baby died 'cos she accidentally lied on top of him. His judgment of cutting the baby in half quickly drawn the real mother out and the baby, unharmed, was given back to her.

Solomon built the temple as replacement for the tent city around the tented tabernacle. More about that tomorrow.
